Around the World with Sauvignon Blanc
Sunday, August 7, 2022
Join the Société Mondiale du Vin of the Bailliage of Greater Washington as we meet at San Lorenzo Restaurant to explore the lovely wines made from the sauvignon blanc grape.
Everyone is asked to bring a bottle of their favorite (or perhaps not-so-favorite) sauvignon blanc from anywhere in the world. We’ll put each bottle in a tasting bag, give you a glass, ask you to take a small taste of each, make some notes, and vote for your favorite. There are no wrong answers, it is your palate! At the end of the event, we’ll reveal the winner and invite the person who brought that wine to say a few words about it.
Certified Sommelier Chevalier Marc Mancher will share information about this wonderful grape and by the end of the afternoon, you should be more knowledgeable about sauvignon blanc than before you arrived. We will have five lovely hors d’oeuvres made by Chef/Owner of San Lorenzo Restaurant Massimo Fabbri, to help open your palette. Those should add to the lively discussion about the various wines and how food pairs with them.
