About This Event
Some reunions are long overdue. Our Bailliage enjoyed three memorable evenings at Equinox, in 2011, 2013 and 2017, and each one reminded us why Executive Chef Todd Gray’s table has long been among Washington’s finest. Then the pandemic intervened, Equinox moved to a handsome new home on 19th Street, and the years slipped by. On Wednesday, November 4th, we return at last for a fourth evening together.
Since founding Equinox in 1999 with his wife and partner, Ellen Kassoff, Chef Gray has been a defining force in Washington dining. Long before “farm to table” became a culinary catchphrase, he was championing seasonal, organic cuisine drawn from the farms, orchards and waters of the Mid-Atlantic, and cultivating close ties with the region’s growers and producers. A five-time James Beard Award finalist, he pairs a deep respect for superb ingredients with an imaginative palate and flawless classical technique.
Through a fire, a pandemic and a relocation, Equinox has stayed true to its principles while continuing to evolve. Chef Gray is delighted that the Chaîne is coming back, and he has reserved his private dining room for our Bailliage alone, where he will present a menu conceived especially for us. The evening will begin with a champagne reception with passed canapés.
To complement Chef Gray’s cuisine, we will uncork a curated selection of exceptional wines from our Bailliage’s own cellar. Inspired cooking, distinguished wines, gracious hospitality and the renewal of a long-standing culinary friendship promise an unforgettable evening of gastronomy and camaraderie.
Because we are dining in a private room, space is strictly limited. Please reserve early to join us for this eagerly anticipated Equinox encore!
